Giving away money in a responsible way is actually difficult but Mozilla is putting considerable effort into this and has made large grants to OpenBSD, Gnome, Participatory Culture Foundation, the Perl Foundation, Dojo (University of Toronto Adaptive Technology Resource Centre,) OpenSSL, Orca, and scores of other smaller efforts (especially small accessibility projects).

You can find a lot of this by simply asking Google about Mozilla grants and other giving programs.
